Kiwi Fruit Bowl

Posted by melodiedouglas on April 2, 2010 at 10:17 PM

This was the perfect day for painting, no place I had to be, the weather wasn't the greatest (I feel guilty when I stay inside on a sunny day) so I was able to start and finish this painting in one day. Being the long weekend i'm hoping to get two paintings done.  After painting so much red it was nice to switch it up to a different color and lime green is one of my favorite colors.  I wonder when we first started getting Kiwi in Canada, I don't remember ever seeing it when I was a kid.

I should know when we started getting Kiwi in Canada, since I am one (a Kiwi, I mean). I remember noticing them & wondering why Canada would bother importing kiwi fruit, since I didn't like them much growing up. When they got over-ripe they made great projectiles for throwing at your brother though!
I like the blues & greens together here.
How is the one painting a week challenge working out?

Coralie for some reason I can picture you throwing them at your brother, I think it must be the mischievousness of your paintings that make me see that. I have to admit that they are gross when they get over ripe.
The challenge is working out quite well, although this week I'm going to have to post a little strawberry study I did as my painting isn't complete. I'm finding that the challenge keeps me motivated but that I have to aways be ahead of the game and have my next piece prepared and ready on canvas or I come to a grinding halt and can't decide on what to paint.
